Darlene Brock—mother of two, music industry trailblazer and celebrated author—celebrates and reflects on the joys of motherhood and more with multiple engagements in support of her latest book Help Wanted: Moms Raising Daughters. I had a chance to review her book and once I opened it, I couldn't put it down. As a mom of two boys, I found every tip helpful and I could "tweak" things to fit my family. Her practical advice nurtures relationships and builds strong family bonds. As a Christan, homeschooling mom, family life is important and I think family bonds these days aren't what they used to be. This book helps you overcome obstacles and move forward in a positive way. It made me appreciate my own mom even more! It's a lighthearted approach which deals with tough issues, and it does so with grit and grace. Maybe that's how she came up with name of her site!
Brock discusses her book (which was recently in the Top 10 on the Amazon.com Best-Sellers List for Motherhood), much-read blog, The Grit & Grace Project, and delves into what she's learned about motherhood, with a particular focus on her experience raising daughters via the following programs:

I enjoyed this book very much. It was easy to follow and surprisingly, I didn't want to put it down. Let me explain. I like made up tales with happy endings and a little romance and adventure. I have read books like this before and I had to make myself finish the book. I couldn't believe that this book captured my attention from the very beginning and I never lost interest. I think Brock's personal stories helped build a relationship with me, the reader. I instantly liked her and I agreed with her views. Brock has a gift for drawing her readers in and getting her point across painlessly. I am actually looking forward to reading it again, just in case I missed something along the way!
Darlene Brock is a motivated self-starter who, while raising her two daughters, found time to produce award-winning music videos, manage recording artists, promote concerts throughout the US and serve as the Chief Operating Officer of a record label. Yet, when reviewing her varied accomplishments and successful career, she proclaims her most important and fulfilling job is being a mom.
